2010 Trail Ride Program

TWHBEAOFWA has a rewards program that recognizes you for doing what you most enjoy – riding the trails with your walking horse.

The program is included your membership, so there is no additional fee.

Recognizing that we share the enjoyment of a smooth-gaited walking horse, this will be a special award at the TWHBEAOFWA annual meeting. Members need only note in their trail logs their time in the saddle while riding the trails. The yearly high mile awards are all just for riding your horse. What could be easier!

You can find the Entry Form Here or they are available for the asking by email contact:
Cyndy Schlemlein, email: rideawalker@hotmail.com

Here are a few Rules:

  1. Program is open to any member of TWHBEAOFWA and any walking horse owned by a member of the TWHBEAOFWA.
  2. There is no fee to enter this program. Program starts November 01 through October 31, each year.
  3. As long as the entered adult or youth rider remains a member of TWHBEAOFWA he/she may accumulate trail hours on any walking horse.
  4. Trail riding time is to be reported in time spent in the saddle and moving, not by the mile covered. Time counts only when actually trail riding. There is no credit given for arena riding, showing, riding in parades or riding within ½ mile of the owner’s own house.
  5. TWHBEAOFWA officially sanctioned trail rides will count double the actual amount of time spent in the saddle.
  6. Trail hours will be counted in ¼ hour (15 minute) increments, with the time rounded out to the nearest ¼ hour and with a ½ hour minimum per ride. If you ride less than ½ hour, well it’s just not really a trail ride.
  7. Hours must be reported on the official Trail Ride Log form with a separate log for each participating horse and/or rider. These forms are found on our web site under the Information tab, Club Documents.
  8. The hours will accumulate from November 01 – October 31 for the purpose of yearly high hour awards.

Year End Awards: High Mile Rider award will be offered at the annual meeting and based on the total number of hours ridden in that year. You can find the Entry Form Here or they are available for the asking by contacting:
